A pesquisa partiu, no primeiro momento, de uma revisão de literatura a fim de poder estabelecer as diferenças entre ética e moral, bem como aprofundar os estudos em torno do trabalho de filósofos como Aristóteles e Kant. Também foi realizada uma revisão em torno da ética cristã em que se abriu espaço para o pensamento de São Tomás de Aquino, May e Boff. A segunda etapa da pesquisa constituiu-se de pesquisa documental, a partir da digitalização das decisões do TED/MA e análise do material coletado. Como principal resultado, a pesquisa permite afirmar que as decisões do TED/MA contribuem para que o ofício do advogado seja pautado pelo cultivo da ética das virtudes.This paper aims at analyzing the decisions of the Ethics and Discipline Tribunal of the OAB/MA [Lawyer’s Order of Brazil/Maranhão] (EDT/MA) to perceive if the ethics of virtue is fomented through the judgements. The research, in the first moment, began with a review of literature to establish the differences between ethics and morality, as well as to deepen the studies about the work of philosophers such as Aristotle and Kant. A review was also carried out about Christian ethics where space was opened for the thinking of Saint Thomas Aquinas, May and Boff. The second stage of the research was made up of documental research based on the digitalization of the decisions of the EDT/MA and the analysis of the collected material.
