Investiga a importância deste rito primitivo para dentro da igreja luterana contemporânea com acento no seu valor espiritual no enfrentamento da enfermidade e provedor de bem-estar, cuidado e proteção de Deus para com seu povo. Compreender a importância dos ritos e dos símbolos na vivência diária da fé, da vida em sociedade e a percepção de que os ritos moldam a vida e que estudá-los é necessário para o autoconhecimento, enquanto seres humanos que vivem em família, em comunidade, em sociedade, no mundo. Os ritos sempre acompanharam o ser humano durante toda a história e continuam a ter papel importante nas suas vidas. O estudo da experiência histórica da Igreja com a unção com óleo trará maior clareza do seu uso durante os séculos, modificações pelas quais passou e importância na comunidade. Para motivar a pesquisa sobre o assunto e a inserção do rito da unção com óleo na vida comunitária da Igreja Evangélica de Confissão Luterana no Brasil (IECLB) onde é pouco conhecido e utilizado, são oferecidos subsídios litúrgicos e relatos de pessoas que participaram da unção.This thesis analyzes the rite of unction with oil and seeks to conceptualize its role analyzing it in a biblical-historical-anthropological perspective. It investigates the importance of this primitive rite within the contemporary Lutheran church focusing on its spiritual value in confronting infirmity and as a provider of well being, and God’s care and protection of God’s people. It aims to understand the importance of the rites and symbols in daily living out of the faith, in life in society and the perception that the rites shape life and it is necessary to study them for self knowledge as human beings who live in family, in community, in society, in the world. Rites have always accompanied the human being throughout all of history and they continue to have an important role in their lives. The study of the historical experience of the church with unction with oil will bring more clarity of its use throughout the centuries, of the modifications it has suffered and of its importance in the community.
