Resumo: This paper deals with the use of information technology and information management as ways to improve the logistics management of a small car parts retailer. This article presents the findings of an exploratory and qualitative study that had as objective analyze the company logistics chain and propose improvements with basis in concepts of information management and information technology applied to logistic. As theoretical basis, it presents concepts of logistics, information technology and information management. This is an exploratory and qualitative case study, and analyses of documents, observations and semi-structured interviews were used to collect the data. As findings, suggestions are proposed for improve the company logistics chain, as well it offers necessary basis for the implementation of the propositions.

Apresenta os resultados de um estudo exploratório e qualitativo que teve como objetivo analisar a gestão logística da empresa e propor melhorias com base em conceitos de gestão da informação e tecnologia da informação aplicada à logística. Como embasamento teórico são apresentados conceitos sobre logística, tecnologia da informação e gestão da informação. O método de pesquisa foi o estudo de caso, de natureza exploratória e qualitativa, tendo como técnicas de coleta de dados uma análise documental, observações e entrevistas semiestruturadas.
