Resumo: | Brazilian history refers to coffee's presence as one of the essential products in the Brazilian economy moving billions of dollars to this date in the internal and external market. This research seeks to highlight coffees' s origins and history briefly. The methodology employed in this present article was a qualitative study, more precisely by bibliographic research consummated through governmental sites, reliable research institutions, and articles indexed in scientific journals. This article will be addressing the main influentials factors in the definition of the quality of the coffee, analyzing this commodity market performance, and concluding with the main elements which noticeably culminates in the existing difference of the product, regarding the quality of the grain consumed in the internal and external market. |

A história brasileira remonta a presença do café como um dos principais produtos da economia brasileira e até hoje movimenta bilhões de dólares no mercado interno e externo. Nesta pesquisa busca-se ressaltar brevemente a origem e história do café. Utilizou-se no presente artigo a metodologia de pesquisa qualitativa, mais precisamente a pesquisa bibliográfica realizada em sites governamentais, instituições de pesquisa confiáveis e artigos indexados em periódicos científicos. Esse artigo abordará os principais elementos que influenciam na definição de qualidade do café, analisando o desempenho mercadológico desse commodity, concluindo com os elementos que culmina na notável diferença existente do produto, no que diz respeito a qualidade do grão, para o consumo do mercado interno e externo.
