Resumo: | The objective of this research is to analyze comparatively the two production systems currently used for laying poultry: traditional and automated, and the current alternatives given for provision of its main solid waste, the manure of birds. In the traditional system the birds are placed in cages arranged vertically so that their droppings accumulate under the structure. This accumulated waste is manually removed around 60 days, with close to 28% moisture and chemically stabilized, and sold for composting firms. The automated system the collection of waste is continuous through a treadmill installed in the base of the cages, the residue does not accumulate in the installation providing a cleaner environment and comfortable for the birds. However, due to its high unit and chemical instability is not accepted by composting firms, presents itself as the main alternative for their willingness to digestion, a double winning investment option, with considerable advantages from an economic and environmental point of view. |

However, due to its high unit and chemical instability is not accepted by composting firms, presents itself as the main alternative for their willingness to digestion, a double winning investment option, with considerable advantages from an economic and environmental point of view.
