Resumo: Entrepreneurship is an essential activity for the economic and social development of a region and a widely discussed and encouraged topic in different contexts, especially in higher education institutions. In a specific way, this study is developed focusing the Entrepreneurial Intention (EI), which is based on the Planned Behavior Theory from Ajzen (1991) and has the objective to identify and analyze the factors that influence the EI of students enrolled in the Textile Engineering course at a university in Brazil and another in Japan. A descriptive, quantitative, and transversal research was carried out, based on the study of Liñán and Chen (2009) who developed a psychometric measurement instrument for measuring EI. The survey showed that students from Brazil are more predisposed to entrepreneurship than Japanese students. Furthermore, it was noticed that variables such as gender, entrepreneurship study, entrepreneurial relatives and age influence the EI. It was also revealed that for Brazilian students the variable “Personal Attitude” is the most correlated with EI. On the other hand, in the sample of Japanese students, the Perceived Behavior Control variable was the most related to EI. Finally, it was possible to reaffirm Ajzen's (1991) postulates, which point out that behavioral factors have the greatest explanatory power of EI.
