Resumo: | This work examines organizational redesign of supply chainmanagement as a tool to increase the level of service to customers. It studies theimpact of the time-based concurrency phenomenon, which has forced companies tobe more flexible to face the constant challenges of their markets. It also analyzes thetransformation of intra-functional processes into inter-functional ones, where alldepartments must interact to promote an uninterrupted flow of the informationinherent to organizational processes, aligned with the demands of globalizedmarkets. Among these processes are certain key tasks and processes for moreefficient supply chain management, such as management of inbound and outboundtransport, administration of customer orders, materials management, productionplanning and management of inventories, besides technical assistance to customerswhen necessary. In the final analysis, companies need to adopt a new supply chainmanagement structure. |

In the final analysis, companies need to adopt a new supply chainmanagement structure.Este artigo trata da reestruturação organizacional para a gestão da cadeia de suprimentos, como uma ferramenta para o aumento do nível de serviço aos clientes. A partir de um referencial teórico-prático onde uma organização foi observada e assim traçada a forma de gestão de sua cadeia de suprimento. Observa o fenômeno da concorrência baseada no tempo que faz com que as empresas se flexibilizem frente as constantes exigências enfrentadas em seus mercados, além de analisar a transformação dos processos intra-funcionais em inter-funcionais, exigindo que todos os departamentos interajam e promovam um fluxo ininterrupto das informações inerentes aos processos organizacionais alinhados as exigências de mercados globalizados. Dentro destes processos organizacionais se dispõem determinadas tarefas e processos-chave para um gerenciamento da cadeia de suprimentos mais eficaz, abrangendo processos tais quais: a gestão de transportes inbound e outbound, a administração de pedidos de clientes, a gestão de materiais e planejamento de produção, gestão de estoques e processos, além da assistência técnica aos clientes, quando necessário.
