Resumo: This new issue of the Brazilian Business Review is characterized by the diversity of subjects and methodological approaches. Fernando Dal-Ri Murcia and José Alonso Borba discusses frauds and their detection in the Brazilian environment. This subject has gained substantial attention in the last few years with the substantial number of frauds being reported in large corporations around the globe. Renato Peixoto Dagnino and Luiz Alberto Nascimento Campos Filho approach a very timely subject: the Brazilian defense industry. Recent foreign policy and military actions undertaken by our South American neighbors show the importance of the careful discussion of this theme. Berthold Herrendorf and Arilton Teixeira investigate the impact of trade policies on the adoption of new technologies and show that the quota system increases the resistance to the adoption of new technologies. José Marcos Carvalho de Mesquita and José Edson Lara treat the factors most associated with customer loyalty in the retail sector. Finally, Helda Kelly dos Santos Pereira , Marcelle Colares Oliveira and Vera Maria Rodrigues Ponte discuss the use of accounting information in non-for profit credit organizations in Brazil.
