School and digital media: some reflections on the transmedia Literacy Project

Resumo: | This essay is a political, cultural and didactic analysis of the Transmedia Literacy (TL) educational project (2015-2018). First, we described the project, evaluating its initial diagnosis, its digital media and pedagogical experiences and affi liations as well as its scope regarding the Latin American educational scenario. Then, based on a sociocultural, anthropological and historical perspective of school culture, we reviewed a series of epistemological, theoreticalmethodological and political issues that we consider to have infl uenced it. Our main focus is on one of the didactic proposals of the Teacher’s Kit which TL offers to teachers as an innovative guidance for digital media education. Finally, we have set out a series of general guidelines that act as alternatives, still under development, for the project proposals analyzed. |

En este ensayo nos ocupamos de analizar en clave política, cultural y didáctica el proyecto Transmedia Literacy (TL) (2015-2018). Con este fi n, realizamos, primero, una descripción del proyecto, evaluamos el diagnóstico del que parte, sus antecedentes y fi liaciones mediático-digitales y pedagógicas, y su potencial alcance en el escenario educativo de la región latinoamericana. Luego, asumiendo una perspectiva sociocultural, antropológica e histórica de la cultura escolar, revisamos una serie de problemas epistemológicos, teórico-metodológicos y políticos que entendemos lo atraviesan. En particular, nos detenemos a diseccionar una de las propuestas didácticas del Teacher’s Kit que el TL les ofrece a los docentes como orientación innovadora para la enseñanza con medios digitales. Por último, planteamos una serie de orientaciones generales que actúan como alternativas –aún en desarrollo– a las propuestas del proyecto analizado. Dans cet essai nous analysons en clé politique, culturelle et didactique le projet éducatif Transmedia Literacy (TL) (2015-2018). D’abord, nous avons décrit le projet et évalué sondiagnostic de départ, ses antécédents, ses affi liations médiatico, digitales et pédagogiques aussi bien que sa portée dans le contexte éducatif latino-américain. Nous avons ensuite passé en revue avec une perspective socioculturelle, anthropologique et historique de la culture scolaire une série de problèmes épistémologiques, théorico-méthodologiques et politiques qui, selon nous, traversent le projet. Nous avons tenu à approfondir une des propositions didactiques du Teacher’s Kit que le projet TL présente aux enseignants comme une orientation novatrice pour un enseignement soutenu par les médias digitales. Finalement, nous avons dégagé une série d’orientations générales pouvant servir d’alternatives – encore en cours d’élaboration – aux propositions du projet en question. Neste ensaio nos ocupamos de analisar política, cultural e didaticamente o projeto educativo Transmedia Literacy (TL) (2015-2018). Com este motivo realizamos, primeiramente, uma descrição do projeto, avaliamos seu diagnóstico inicial, seus antecedentes e fi liações midiáticodigitais e pedagógicas, e seu alcance com relação ao cenário educacional da região latinoamericana. A seguir, assumindo uma perspectiva sociocultural, antropológica e histórica da cultura escolar, revisamos uma série de problemas epistemológicos, teórico-metodológicos e políticos que consideramos que o atravessam. Sobretudo, detivemo-nos para dissecar uma das propostas didáticas do Teacher’s Kit que o TL oferece aos professores como orientação inovadora para o ensino com mídia digital.
