Evaluation of the construction of geometrical figures in basic education

Resumo: The study refers to spatial geometry questions listed in large scale official assessments and analyzes the construction of three-dimensional geometric figures (parallelograms, pyramids, prisms, cylinders and cones). 842 students from the ninth grade and twelfth grades were part of the study. Categories of analysis regarding the developmental levels of the construction of projective notions concerning representative space were formed based on the Piagetian approach. The levels ranged from one (better demonstrated in the construction of the cone), which showed the acquisition of topological notions and the non-identification of the properties of figures, to five (better demonstrated in the construction of the parallelogram), which drawings showed the identification of the main properties and the acquisition of projective and Euclidean relations. The study discusses construction as a way of contributing to the assessment of the properties of geometric spatial figures.

Los sujetos fueron 842 alumnos del 9º año de la educación fundamental y del 3er año de la educación media. Con un abordaje piagetiano acerca de la elaboración de las nociones proyectivas relativas a la construcción del espacio representativo, se han formado categorías de análisis relativas a niveles de desarrollo de dichas nociones. Los niveles variaron de uno (más verificado en la planificación del cono), que reveló el establecimiento de nociones topológicas y la no identificación de propiedades de las figuras, a cinco (más verificado en la planificación del paralelepípedo), cuyos diseños revelaron la identificación de las principales propiedades y el establecimiento de relaciones proyectivas y euclidianas. El trabajo discute la planificación como forma de contribuir para la evaluación de las propiedades de las figuras geométricas espaciales.O trabalho refere-se a questões de geometria espacial constantes de avaliações oficiais feitas em larga escala e analisa desenhos de planificação de figuras geométricas tridimensionais (paralelepípedo, pirâmide, prismas, cilindros e cones). Foram sujeitos 842 alunos do 9º ano do ensino fundamental e da 3ª série do ensino médio. Com abordagem piagetiana acerca da construção das noções projetivas relativas à construção do espaço representativo, foram formadas categorias de análise referentes a níveis de desenvolvimento dessas noções. Os níveis variaram de um (mais verificado na planificação do cone), que revelou o estabelecimento de noções topológicas e a não identificação de propriedades das figuras, a cinco (mais verificado na planificação do paralelepípedo), cujos desenhos revelaram a identificação das principais propriedades e o estabelecimento de relações projetivas e euclidianas.
