Emergency remote instruction in early childhood education: experience in private schools

Resumo: This study investigates the perception of families with children enrolled in 79 private schools, in the city of Fortaleza, regarding the implementation of emergency remote instruction. Data were collected through an on-line questionnaire, composed of closed and open ended questions, answered by 201 participants. The analysis was performed by statistical treatment and content analysis, based on the context, input, process and product evaluation model. Results showed limitations in the planning, infrastructure and monitoring of remote instruction, from the perspective of the families who, nevertheless, recognized the importance of the system for maintaining the children’s bond with the school and greater safety against Covid-19.

Los datos fueron recolectados mediante la aplicación de un cuestionario en línea, compuesto por preguntas cerradas y abiertas, y respondido por 201 participantes. El procedimiento de análisis fue precedido por un tratamiento estadístico y por el análisis de contenido, y se basó en el modelo de evaluación de Contexto, Insumo, Proceso y Producto. Los resultados indicaron limitaciones de planificación, infraestructura y seguimiento de la educación a distancia desde la perspectiva de las familias, quienes por su parte reconocieron la importancia del sistema para mantener el vínculo entre los niños y la escuela y una mayor seguridad frente al covid-19.Esta pesquisa investiga a percepção de famílias com crianças matriculadas em 79 escolas privadas, na cidade de Fortaleza, sobre o processo de implantação do ensino remoto emergencial. Os dados foram coletados mediante a aplicação de um questionário on-line, composto por perguntas fechadas e abertas, respondido por 201 participantes. O procedimento de análise foi precedido de tratamento estatístico e análise de conteúdo, tendo sido fundamentado no modelo de avaliação do Contexto, Insumo, Processo e Produto.
