INFORMATION SCIENCE AND ITS PARADIGMS: the presence of language in knowledge organization

Resumo: The organization of knowledge developed in continuity with the needs presented by librarianship and documentation. Its techniques, practices, methodologies and its scientific and epistemological debates surround the application of instruments so that the informational content can be represented and retrieved. In this context, the application of language is one of the resources for processing documental information, which is why language theories were included in studies of this relationship between language, information and document. The objective of this research is to analyze the historical-theoretical foundations present in the epistemological construction of the paradigms of information science, according to Capurro, and to observe how the organization of knowledge is framed and how language contributes to the analysis of meaning before the instruments of representation. A qualitative, exploratory-descriptive methodology was applied on the theoretical basis about the epistemology of information science, the organization of knowledge and the application of language, characterizing a bibliographical research. The social paradigm offers a wider range of concerns regarding the handling of information. The organization of knowledge stands out as a fundamental segment for the development of techniques, protocols, standards, procedures, strategies and methods to systematize knowledge, thus highlighting the analysis of the role of language between its natural and specialized faces.

Sus técnicas, prácticas, metodologías y sus debates científicos y epistemológicos giran en torno a la aplicación de instrumentos para que el contenido informativo pueda ser representado y recuperado. En este contexto, la aplicación del lenguaje es uno de los recursos para el procesamiento de la información documental, por lo que las teorías del lenguaje fueron incluidas en los estudios de esta relación entre lenguaje, información y documento. El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar los fundamentos histórico-teóricos presentes en la construcción epistemológica de los paradigmas de las ciencias de la información, según Capurro, y observar cómo se enmarca la organización del conocimiento y cómo el lenguaje contribuye al análisis del sentido ante la instrumentos de representación. Se aplicó una metodología cualitativa, exploratoria-descriptiva sobre la base teórica sobre la epistemología de las ciencias de la información, la organización del conocimiento y la aplicación del lenguaje, caracterizando una investigación bibliográfica. El paradigma social ofrece una gama más amplia de preocupaciones con respecto al manejo de la información. La organización del conocimiento se destaca como un segmento fundamental para el desarrollo de técnicas, protocolos, estándares, procedimientos, estrategias y métodos para sistematizar el conocimiento, destacándose así el análisis del papel del lenguaje entre sus caras natural y especializada.A organização do conhecimento se desenvolveu em continuidade às necessidades apresentadas pela biblioteconomia e pela documentação. Suas técnicas, práticas, metodologias e seus debates científicos, epistemológicos, circundam a aplicação de instrumentos para que o conteúdo informacional possa ser representado e ser recuperado. Nesse contexto, a aplicação da linguagem é um dos recursos de tratamento da informação documental, por isso verificou-se a inserção das teorias da linguagem aos estudos nessa relação entre linguagem, informação e documento. É objetivo desta pesquisa analisar os fundamentos histórico-teóricos presentes na construção epistemológica dos paradigmas da ciência da informação, segundo Capurro e observar como ocorre o enquadramento da organização do conhecimento e como a linguagem contribui para a análise do significado perante os instrumentos de representação. Aplicou-se uma metodologia qualitativa, exploratória-descritiva sobre fundamentação teórica acerca da epistemologia da ciência da informação, da organização do conhecimento e da aplicação da linguagem, caracterizando uma pesquisa bibliográfica. O paradigma social oferece uma gama maior de preocupações em relação ao tratamento da informação.
