Digital natives and new conceptions for school libraries: the library as a mediator of information

Resumo: | It analyzes the connectivity relationship of digital natives with the school library of the municipal education network Umef Dr Tuffy Nader (Barra do Jucu, Vila Velha, ES - Brazil) with the librarian as an active mediator in this space. In order to adapt its functioning to these students born in the digital age. It is used for analysis of this study in addition to an exploratory and descriptive phase of investigation, in which the qualitative approach will be used, an ethnographic research - and brings as a data collection instrument, the technique of in-depth interviews - with the natives in the school library of the municipal school system of Vila Velha. It shows that the library is present in the school context as of great importance for digital natives, and the mediating librarian can also assume the pedagogical function and prepare these students born in the digital age for an Information Society, this immersed in digital technologies more and more young. Meet the digital natives, these students that schools have received, born with the arrival of digital technologies and who have developed a new relationship with knowledge, is extremely relevant for information science, and the librarian working in this field This scenario needs to assume a socializing function, being the mediating bridge for these students to seek information and find it in a dynamic and pleasant way. It is also noticed that many digital natives have assimilated a greater concern about real estate than with technology itself, given that not all students born in the digital age do have access to technologies. |

Com o intuito (finalidade) de adequar seu funcionamento a estes alunos nascidos na era digital. Utiliza-se para análise desse estudo além de uma fase exploratória e descritiva de investigação, no qual será utilizada a abordagem qualitativa, uma pesquisa etnográfica – e traz como instrumento de coleta de dados, a técnica de entrevistas em profundidade – com os nativos digitais na biblioteca escolar da rede municipal de ensino de Vila Velha. Evidencia que a biblioteca se faz presente no contexto escolar como de grande importância para os nativos digitais, e o bibliotecário mediador pode assumir também a função pedagógica e preparar esses alunos nascidos na era digital para uma Sociedade de Informação, esta imersa em tecnologias digitais cada vez mais novas. Conhecer os nativos digitais, esses alunos que as escolas têm recebido, nascidos com a chegada das tecnologias digitais e que, desenvolveram uma nova relação com o conhecimento, apresenta-se de suma relevância para a ciência da informação, e o bibliotecário atuante nesse cenário necessita assumir uma função socializante, sendo a ponte mediadora para que esses alunos busque a informação e a encontre de uma forma dinâmica e prazerosa.
