THE CONTRIBUTION OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP TO VISIBILITY OF THE BRAZILIAN LIBRARIAN

Objectives verify how entrepreneurship can contribute to the visibility of librarianship. For this, the concepts were verified, the evolution and the importance of entrepreneurship to society, we analyzed how entrepreneurship is treated in librarianship, there was what aroused the interest of Brazilian librarians to undertake, we analyzed the challenges met by Brazilian business librarians to open their information management. To achieve the proposed objectives, a bibliographical research, descriptive and exploratory. As data collection, was made contact via e-mail with the twenty librarians from different regions of Brazil which recorded testimonials to the EmpreendeBiblio portal we are undertaking in the area of information management. Of these, eleven have agreed to participate in the survey and answered a questionnaire with five open-ended questions that deal with on the influences to pursue a career, the reasons that led him to undertake, as well as the challenges encountered, as well as survey on the need to acquire new knowledge and, finally, the question of research is whether engaging in the profession can contribute to improve the visibility of the librarian. As a result, it is concluded that to relate three variables, the labour market, professional visibility and entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship expands job opportunities for librarians and also provides a new perspective on the profession, before restricted to context of libraries.
