Resumo: The architectural exhibit of the Modern Art Week of São Paulo, held in 1922, showed the works of two foreign architects: the Spaniard Antonio Moya and the Pole Georg Przyrembel, who presented the drawings of a beach residence inspired in the Neocolonial style. At the time, there was no contradiction between it and the revolution launched at the ¿Week¿ against the academic establishment who ruled painting, poetry, music, sculpture and literature in Brazil. This essay aims to analyze the important and short time when Modernism and Neocolonial Architecture walked together.

Editora FGV2002-05-31info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/article/view/2177Revista Estudos Históricos; Vol. 2 No. 30 (2002): Art and History; 110-128Revista Estudos Históricos; v. 2 n. 30 (2002): Arte e História; 110-1282178-14940103-2186reponame:Estudos Históricos (Rio de Janeiro)instname:Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)instacron:FGVporhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/article/view/2177/1316Kessel, Carlosinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2017-06-14T21:00:08Zoai:ojs.periodicos.fgv.br:article/2177Revistahttps://periodicos.fgv.br/rehONGhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/oai||biblioteca.digital@fgv.br||eh@fgv.br2178-14940103-2186opendoar:2024-03-06T13:01:40.427986Estudos Históricos (Rio de Janeiro) - Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)true
