Historical narratives in dispute: a YouTube case study

Resumo: | This article intends to deal with the different narratives that involve the discipline of history in the YouTube platform. A series of videos was analyzed, and from a quantitative and qualitative analysis of these materials, it was possible to infer, on the one hand, an inexpressiveness of the productions made by public or university institutions and, on the other hand, a large number of videos that bring a revisionist view of academic history. It was concluded from these investigations about the need for a greater action by academia and professional historians at these places of production and discussion of narratives, which could respond to an identified educational demand that occurs both within the physical space and formal of the classroom as well outside, in some online spaces where, in order to constitute and show themselves in opposition to the formal school, they offer themselves as alternatives in these disputes of the narratives of history. |

A partir de un mapeo, fue analizada una serie de videos, de los cuales fue posible verificar, por ejemplo: la inexpresividad de las producciones realizadas por instituciones públicas o universitarias y una gran cantidad de videos que brindan una visión revisionista o desafiante de la historia académica. Se concluyó a partir de estas investigaciones sobre la necesidad de una mayor acción por parte de académicos e historiadores profesionales en estos espacios de producción y discusión de narrativas, que podrían responder a una demanda educativa identificada que ocurre tanto dentro del espacio físico de la clase formal como fuera, en espacios online donde, para constituirse en oposición a la escuela formal, se ofrecen y se muestran como alternativas en las disputas de las narrativas de la historia.Este artigo pretende tratar das diferentes narrativas que envolvem a disciplina da história na plataforma YouTube. A partir de um mapeamento, foi analisada uma série de vídeos, e de uma análise quantitativa e qualitativa desses materiais foi possível inferir, por um lado, uma inexpressividade das produções feitas por instituições públicas ou universitárias e, por outro, um grande número de vídeos que trazem uma visão revisionista ou contestadora da história acadêmica.
