This is the third and last article of a series which describes the experience of ECT (Empresa Brasileira de Correios e Telegráfos) in its search for modernity. It has been assumed that the concept of modernity is connected to that of Success, and the three articlestry to inform how this success was built. This article shows the process that has been developed since 1984 focusing on questions related to management pattern, the search for competitiveness, the decision to have paterners through franchising, as well as the thoughts raised by these elements at ECT. It also makes reference to some information presented in the preceding articles.
