Resumo: There seems to be a consensus that never have we lived in a society in which the individual depended so much in the action of formal organizations for the satisfaction of its needs. Thus, the analysis of organizations becomes a challenging task, and organizational theory needs the support of the other human sciences, such as anthropology and sociology. Based on the studies by Marcel Mauss, Émile Durkheim and Guerreiro Ramos, this paper proposes to analyze the organizational fact as a total social fact, seeking to improve the organizational theory.

Assim, analisar as organizações passa a ser uma tarefa desafiadora, necessitando a teoria das organizações do apoio das demais ciências humanas, tal como a antropologia e a sociologia.
