This article discuss the social situation of Argentina focusing the analysis in some fields that are central to the welfare of the population, as the labor market, income, health , education and habitation. The social policies of the ninety decade that deepened the social and regional gaps are discussed too. We consider in this study that the poverty and the inequality are different, so the answers in the public policies field should be different too. In this sense the proposal of reduction of the social gaps needs another kind of treatment like; strategies that are able to change the social structure, to stimulate the mobility, and to improve the structure. Social policies of this kind needs macroeconomics deals that has as main goal the welfare of the population and the social integration. To achieve this goal is necessary to have a multidimensional approach that are able to take care of the individuals and the community and to promote the participation.
