Project Russas: an Example of Sociological Intervention

Resumo: The process of intervention analyzed in this work was called "Project Russas" and had beginning in year 2000, in the city of Russas - Ceará. The objective was to eradicate and to prevent the infantile work, under the sponsorship of the Bank-Boston Foundation in partnership with other social actors. The Project Russas was an example of social intervention of success: a systematic action against the exploration of the infantile man power made possible by its model of participa-tion, that mobilized all a community for an objective. In the Project Russas always it was clearly the paper of the commu-nity as informing in the decisions. The community showed its ability to describe its proper world, its proper reality, to identify its difficulties and to offer viable suggestions. The technician had known to hear e, thus, had obtained to in-tervine in the direction of overthrower the instituted reality, to promote a rupture with the existing social balance, rescu-ing a dignity has very lost in the economic network. It was an intervention project that relieved shares for all the partici-pants, mainly for the children and adolescents. The city of Russas eradicated the infantile work.

O objetivo do projeto foi erradicar e prevenir o trabalho infantil, sob o patrocínio da Fundação BankBoston em parceria com outros atores sociais, como o Conselho Municipal dos Direitos da Criança e do Adolescente, a Pastoral do Menor, a prefeitura municipal e os empresários locais. O Projeto Russas foi um exemplo bem-sucedido de intervenção social: uma ação sistemática contra a exploração da mão-de-obra infantil, viabilizada por seu modelo de participação, que mobilizou toda uma comunidade para um objetivo. No Projeto Russas, sempre ficou claro o papel da comunidade como partícipe nas decisões. A comunidade mostrou sua competência para descrever seu próprio mundo, sua própria realidade, identificar suas dificuldades e oferecer sugestões viáveis. Os técnicos souberam ouvir e, assim, conseguiram intervir no sentido de subverter a realidade instituída, de promover uma ruptura no equilíbrio social existente, resgatando uma dignidade há muito perdida na teia econômica. Foi um projeto de intervenção que rendeu dividendos para todos os participantes, principalmente para as crianças e adolescentes.
