Resumo: O presente estudo busca avaliar qual foi o impacto do Fies, Fundo de Financiamento a Estudante de Ensino Superior, na qualidade dos cursos superiores brasileiros, medida pelas notas geral e de componente específico do exame do Enade dos alunos concluintes dos cursos avaliados nos anos de 2009 e 2012. Foi empregado o método de diferenças-em-diferenças, para medir o impacto das reformulações e expansão do Fies em 2010, usando como controles características dos alunos e das instituições de ensino superior. Os resultados mostram, em linhas gerais, que para os cursos de administração, economia e ciências contábeis, a presença de alunos beneficiários pelo Fies impacta de forma positiva a média da nota geral destes cursos nas instituições.

The diferences-in-differences method was used to measure the impact reformulations and expansion in 2010, using features of students and university institutions as controls. The results, broadly speaking, show that for business, economics and accounting courses, the presence of students benefited by Fies positively impacts the average grade of the classes at the
