Resumo: The paper brings a reflection about the validity of the concept of praxis as a theoretical contribution and methodological category to think about the current transformations in journalism. It is based on categories of creative praxis and reiterative praxis, dialoguing with the work of Sánchez Vázquez (1977, 2002), Kosik (1976), and Genro Filho (1986, 1989, 2012). This text is a cut of the doctoral thesis defended in the Post-Graduation Program in Communication Sciences of Unisinos (São Leopoldo, RS), which sought to map indications of creation and reiteration in the practices and values of journalism within the editorial offices of El País (Madrid), Folha de S.Paulo and Zero Hora.
