Resumo: The Pampa is the only Brazilian biome found solely in Rio Grande do Sul state. The production of natural products, especially essential oils from native species, can stimulate innovation in territories that are pressured by agribusiness. The objective of this study is to support the conservation of biodiversity in the Pampa by promoting the sustainable use of native species. This study approaches a technical evaluation of treating the biomass and chemical prospection of essential oils from three species: Baccharis crispa, Eugenia uniflora, and Aloysia gratissima. Monoterpenes are the predominant compounds in the three species. Fifteen majority constituents were found of which 57,8% are monoterpenes in E. uniflora, ten major constituents were found in A. gratissima of which 72,6% were monoterpenes and 8 were found in B. crispa, of which 88,7% were monoterpenes. The organization of management methods for the natural populations and commercial planting could assist in raising the value of now undesired native Pampa species. Thus, a great opportunity to use these species to promote innovative productive systems through local eco-production arrangements is proposed and supported by agroecological research about product development, formation of human capital and creation of markets.

Centro de Inovação em Biodiversidade e Saúde - Farmanguinhos/Fiocruz2021-09-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdftext/htmltext/xmltext/htmlhttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/106510.32712/2446-4775.2021.1065Revista Fitos; Vol. 15 No. 3 (2021); 333-345Revista Fitos; Vol. 15 Núm. 3 (2021); 333-345Revista Fitos; v. 15 n. 3 (2021); 333-3452446-47751808-9569reponame:Revista Fitosinstname:Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ)instacron:FIOCRUZporhttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/1065/874https://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/1065/875https://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/1065/970https://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/1065/900Copyright (c) 2019 Revista Fitosinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessElguy, Lucas Guilherme PerezTrevisan, Adriana Carla DiasCoelho, Marina PereiraOliveira, Yeferson Ely Cavalheiro deMadureira, Luiz Augusto dos Santos2022-05-02T19:41:05Zoai:ojs.revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br:article/1065Revistahttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/PUBhttp://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/oairevistafitos@far.fiocruz.br || eugenio.telles@far.fiocruz.br2446-47752446-4775opendoar:2022-05-02T19:41:05Revista Fitos - Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ)false
