Resumo: | This study makes a marking of the relationship between University and Industry (U-I) concerning to the pharmaceutical sector, and regarded as a driver of innovation. From analyses published on the subject in the literature, we focus on the aspects that characterize the University and the Industry separately, and then the role of the State and the main mechanisms of interaction between these three agents, according to the model established for the institutions as stated in the "Sábato Triangle" for supporting the innovation. In terms of industry and production of drugs, data were collected for the global pharmaceutical market and Brazil. The performance of the national scientific academy aspect was addressed in terms of their potential to contribute as innovator in the pharmaceutical area. The evidence of state involvement as a dynamic element of the U-I relationship was observed in the adoption of public policies, the prospect of targeted funding for the pharmaceutical segment, and the creation of specific organs to catalyze institutional mechanisms, particularly the Office of Technology Transfer in Brazil. The last decade showed a steady growth in capacity of knowledge generation by the academic sector, in line with efforts to relate to the productive sector. The results of this approach U-E induced and supported by public policies and legal bases, have produced, albeit insufficiently, some alignment between these interrelated institutional sectors in the Sábato Triangle. A clear indicator of this progress is the gradual implantation of Offices of Technology Transfer in the institutions that produce knowledge, as one of the major visible impacts of the Innovation Law, approved eight years ago. |

Centro de Inovação em Biodiversidade e Saúde - Farmanguinhos/Fiocruz2012-09-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdftext/htmlhttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/15010.32712/2446-4775.2012.150Revista Fitos; Vol. 7 No. 03 (2012); 155-168Revista Fitos; Vol. 7 Núm. 03 (2012); 155-168Revista Fitos; v. 7 n. 03 (2012); 155-1682446-47751808-9569reponame:Revista Fitosinstname:Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ)instacron:FIOCRUZporhttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/150/148https://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/150/1154Copyright (c) 2012 Revista Fitos Eletrônicainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSiani, Antonio C.Santos, Paula G.2022-09-14T13:02:20Zoai:ojs.revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br:article/150Revistahttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/PUBhttp://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/oairevistafitos@far.fiocruz.br || eugenio.telles@far.fiocruz.br2446-47752446-4775opendoar:2022-09-14T13:02:20Revista Fitos - Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ)false |
