Resumo: Triphasia trifolia (Rutaceae) is a species used in folk medicine. The essential oil found in leaves and fruits has several biological activities. The objectives of this study were to morphoanatomically describe the leaf of T. trifolia, identifying characters that could help in its morphodiagnosis and addition to evaluating the chemical composition of the essential oil extracted by solid phase, coupled to GC/MS, from its leaves. It is a sub-shrubby species, with thorny branches and trifoliate leaves. The leaf blade has a uniseriate, hypostomatic epidermis with anomocytic stomata. There are a lot of prismatic crystals that are very evident in cells from different structures of the leaf. The mesophyll is dorsiventral, where essential oil secretory cavities are also observed. The vascular system in the midrib has the same shape as the petiole. The analysis of the essential oil of the leaf revealed the presence of several metabolities, being sabinene and β-pinene the major ones.

Centro de Inovação em Biodiversidade e Saúde - Farmanguinhos/Fiocruz2022-12-20info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdftext/htmltext/xmlhttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/139510.32712/2446-4775.2022.1395Revista Fitos; Vol. 16 No. 4 (2022); 418-430Revista Fitos; Vol. 16 Núm. 4 (2022); 418-430Revista Fitos; v. 16 n. 4 (2022); 418-4302446-47751808-9569reponame:Revista Fitosinstname:Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ)instacron:FIOCRUZporhttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/1395/1105https://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/1395/1106https://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/1395/1338Copyright (c) 2022 Revista Fitoshttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess Soares, Felipe MarcianoMarques, Carlos Alexandrede Souza Torquilho, Helena 2023-01-16T13:01:08Zoai:ojs.revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br:article/1395Revistahttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/PUBhttp://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/oairevistafitos@far.fiocruz.br || eugenio.telles@far.fiocruz.br2446-47752446-4775opendoar:2023-01-16T13:01:08Revista Fitos - Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ)false
