Community health agents with higher education: norms, knowledge and syllabus

Resumo: This paper aims to analyze how the degrees in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Pedagogy taken by community health agents can influence their knowledge, practices, and the directions of the profession. This is a qualitative, analytical research with triangulation of methods based on the interpretation of the various subjects that dispute the profession. The article is developed in three parts: the first compares normative aspects of the professional categories; the second discusses the knowledge of community health agents after entering higher education and the influence on professional practices; and the third analyzes the syllabuses of Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Pedagogy, and community health agents as an element of dispute and construction of professional identities. Gaps are pointed out regarding theabsence of an ethical-political project and of a teaching and research association proper to community health agents, as well as the necessary dispute of epistemologies and theoretical foundation to achieve a cognitive and professional domain more committed to the transformation of the agents as a subject and of their reality.

Es una investigación cualitativa, analítica, con triangulación de métodos a partir de la interpretación de los diversos sujetos que compiten por la profesión. El artículo se desarrolla en tres partes: la primera compara aspectos normativos de las categorías profesionales; la segunda discute los saberes de las agentes comunitarias de salud después del ingreso a la educación superior y la influencia en las prácticas profesionales; y la tercera analiza los currículos de Enfermería, Trabajo Social, Psicología, Pedagogía y agentes comunitarias de salud como elemento de disputa y construcción de identidades profesionales. Se señalan brechas en cuanto a la ausencia de un proyecto ético-político y de asociación de la docencia y la investigación propia de las agentes comunitarias de salud, así como la necesaria disputa de epistemologías y fundamentos teóricos para alcanzar un dominio cognitivo y profesional más comprometido con la transformación de las agentes como sujetos y de su realidad.Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar como as graduações em Enfermagem, Serviço Social, Psicologia ou Pedagogia cursadas pelas agentes comunitárias de saúde podem influenciar seus saberes, práticas e os rumos da profissão. Trata-se de pesquisa qualitativa, analítica, com triangulação de métodos baseada na interpretação dos diversos sujeitos que disputam a profissão. O artigo é desenvolvido em três partes: a primeira compara aspectos normativos das categorias profissionais; a segunda discute os saberes das agentes comunitárias de saúde após ingresso no ensino superior e a influência nas práticas profissionais; e a terceira analisa os currículos de Enfermagem, Serviço Social, Psicologia, Pedagogia e agentes comunitárias de saúde como elemento de disputa e construção das identidades profissionais. Apontam-se lacunas quanto à ausência de um projeto éticopolítico e de associação de ensino e pesquisa própria das agentes comunitárias de saúde, assim como a necessária disputa das epistemologias e fundamentação teórica para se alcançar um domínio cognitivo e profissional mais comprometido com a transformação das agentes como sujeito e da sua realidade.
