The recent international development of the field of immunobiology has produced a continuous supply of new products from many nations, with high added value for public health. These circumstances require that public laboratories increase their pace of innovation to maintain their position as strategic laboratories in the public health sector and industrial andtechnological development policies of the government. To assist this process, it is necessary to continually manage and share knowledge of all types that addresses existing and emerging needs. To this end, the dynamics of knowledge repositories, both pre-existing and those acquired by these organizations to develop new opportunities and ensure their sustainability, should be explored and identified. Accordingly, this article considers the application of knowledge management and knowledge sharing as essential mechanisms for stimulating innovation in public laboratories that produce biopharmaceuticals.
