Needs assessment for the welfare of workers in the Covid-19 context

Resumo: The subjective well-being in this study associated with the scale of needs according to Maslow and the evident impacts of Covid-19 aims to raise which needs are indicated as priority and emerging by workers living in the state of Piauí. An online questionnaire was used, with access link via WhatsApp, and the interpretation and the analysis were anchored in basic statistics and the selected literature. The profile of the largest number of participants is female, between 31 and 40 years old, with higher education and professional, scientific, and technical activities. The priority needs indicated in the findings are: food, physical health, feeling of belonging, positive reputation, and personal growth; and the emerging needs are: faith in God, mental health, more tolerance, psychological support for families, and more governmental actions in society. The findings contribute to, especially in adverse situations, people managers should adopt actions to ensure employees mental and emotional health as precedents for their satisfaction and performance.

Fez-se uso de questionário on-line via aplicativo WhatsApp, e a interpretação e a análise são ancoradas em estatística básica e na literatura selecionada. O perfil do maior número de participantes é do sexo feminino, entre 31 e 40 anos, com maior escolaridade em nível superior e exercendo atividades profissionais, científicas e técnicas. As necessidades prioritárias indicadas nos achados são: alimentação, saúde física, sentimento de pertencimento, reputação positiva e crescimento pessoal; e emergentes: fé em Deus, saúde mental, mais tolerância, amparo psicológico para as famílias e mais ações governamentais junto à sociedade.
