Resumo: Introduction: Due to the importance of blood donation, a rigid screening should be performed donor so that the donated blood is able to be transfused, or the donor must be within certain requirements (weight, age, hemoglobin levels ( Hb) / hematocrit (Ht) etc) and do not have certain characteristics and diseases that prevent the donation. Objectives: To evaluate the factors of the trial that prevent blood donation. Methods: documentary study based on tables of the trial the Regional Courts Blood Center (HRC), from chips notification / investigation of fit and unfit donors, for the period from May 2004 to July 2011. Clinical variables of the study They were anemia, hypotension, hypertension, Hb / Ht low, alcoholism, risk for STDs, drug use and hepatitis. The other causes of disability were considered to another and was recorded the total number of candidates for donation characterizing the clinical causes of unfitness to donate blood. The work meets the CNS Resolution 196/96 concerning ethical issues in research with humans. Results: The data obtained in the survey were used in contrast to other data Blood Center of Ribeirão Preto / SP and Hematology Center of São Paulo / SP. The main factors of the trial that prevent the donation in the HRC are: Hb / Ht low, hypertension and risk for STDs. Conclusions: Of the candidates for donation during the study period, 75% of those were qualified as fit and unfit as 25%, a figure above the average of Brazil (10% to 20%).

Conclusions: Of the candidates for donation during the study period, 75% of those were qualified as fit and unfit as 25%, a figure above the average of Brazil (10% to 20%).Introdução: Devido à grande importância da doação de sangue, deve ser feita uma rígida triagem dos doadores para que o sangue doado esteja apto a ser transfundido, ou seja, o doador precisa estar dentro de alguns requisitos (peso, idade, níveis de Hemoglobina (Hb) / Hematócrito (Ht) etc) e não possuir certas características e doenças que impeçam a doação.
