CLINICAL AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF WORK ACCIDENTS WITH PROFESSIONALS IN THE HEALTH AREA

Resumo:   In the hospital environment work accidents are related to several risk factors. In this environment diverse workers work and accidents are linked to performance and working conditions. Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze the clinical and epidemiological factors of occupational accidents with health professionals at Ferreira Machado Hospital in Campos dos Goytacazes, RJ, from June 2010 to June 2011. Methods: The study was developed using the study design with data collection of interest from the notification of work accidents occurred between June 2010 and June 2011 and recorded in the form with the variables of interest. Data were analyzed using statistics indicated for the types of study variables. All the Work Accident Communication (CAT) cards issued during the period considered totaling 37 notifications were identified. Results: The main demographic characteristics were: female (89.2%); single (45.9%); in the age group of 41 to 60 years old (75.6%) and belonging to the nursing assistant category (70.3%). In relation to the characterization of accidents, typical accidents predominated (89.2%); caused by sharp perforating objects (54.1%); reaching the upper limbs (75.7%); mostly in the morning shift (48.6); in the interval of the first four hours worked (51.4%); and the sectors with the highest incidence of injury were Emergency Relief (13.5%) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (10.8%). It was concluded that occupational accidents were typical, caused by sharp piercing object, reaching upper limbs and occurring in the first hours of work.

Neste ambiente atuam trabalhadores diversificados e os acidentes estão vinculados ao desempenho e às condições laborais. Objetivo: Realizou-se uma análise os fatores clínicos e epidemiológicos de acidentes de trabalho com profissionais da área de saúde no Hospital Ferreira Machado em Campos dos Goytacazes, RJ, no período de junho de 2010 a junho de 2011. Métodos: O estudo foi desenvolvido utilizando o delineamento de estudo com coleta de dados de interesse a partir de notificação de acidentes de trabalho ocorridos entre junho de 2010 a junho de 2011 e registrado em ficha com as variáveis de interesse. Os dados foram analisados através de estatística indicada para os tipos de variáveis do estudo. Identificaram-se todas as fichas de Comunicação de Acidentes de Trabalho (CAT) emitidas no período considerado totalizando 37 notificações. Resultados: Tiveram-se como principais características demográficas: sexo feminino (89,2%); solteira (45,9%); na faixa etária de 41 a 60 anos (75,6%) e pertencentes à categoria de auxiliar de enfermagem (70,3%). Em relação à caracterização dos acidentes, predominaram os acidentes típicos (89,2%); causados por objetos perfuro cortantes (54,1%); atingindo os membros superiores (75,7%); em sua maioria no turno da manhã (48,6); no intervalo das quatro primeiras horas trabalhadas (51,4%); e os setores com maior ocorrência de lesão foram Pronto Socorro (13,5%) e Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Pediátrica (10,8%).
