Resumo: Introduction: The history of women is marked at different times by struggles and movements to obtain rights, showing us a paradox between rights and reality. Action research as a scientific research tool through the method already promotes reflections on the object investigated, in which, allied to the psychodrama due to the feature of rescuing the spontaneity of the involved facilitates the investigation and immediate intervention. Both action research and psychodrama use the concept of creativity as a means of acquiring new behaviors. Objective: To explore the applicability of the action research method associated with psychodrama with a group of university women. Methodology: Thus, it was a qualitative narrative study based on the experience of a group of university women through the action research method and psychodrama. The group consists of 18 university women, during 10 weekly meetings, aged between 21 and 50 years, all frequent in the final years of higher education. The selection of participants was random through participation in a public psychodrama session that took place in the context of a city. Considerations: The meetings made it possible to identify and transform the social context, which falls on women in various aspects, among them the university student, which is a synonym of achievements and anguish by having to comply with other social requirements, based on the marks left behind. by oppression, patriarchalism and curtailment of rights in the name of a chauvinistic culture. Analyzing the path marked by confrontations that claim vested rights makes us wonder if these women really managed to occupy new places or if there was only a transposition of times, where the woman although conquered spaces still remains in the same dichotomy of eighteenth century behavior. The study enabled the participants involved to perceive themselves in daily life and move in search of the emancipation of the feminine of women in the 21st century, pondering the perception of the necessary movement for liberation.
