NURSING CARE IN OSTOMIZED PATIENTS: AN INTEGRATING LITERATURE REVIEW

Resumo: Intestinal ostomies are defined as surgical interventions performed in both the colon and the small intestine and consist of the exteriorization of an intestinal segment. The nurse is one of the most qualified professionals to provide care for colostomized patients observing the being in all its singularity. The objective of this study was to analyze publications related to nursing care for patients with colostomy. A literature review of articles published between 2009 and 2018, published in the Bireme, Capes, Ebsco, Lilacs and Scielo databases was carried out. The data collection was carried out between March and October of 2018, being found 83 articles. Of these, only 5 are focused at caring for ostomized patients, among others related within the proposed theme. It is concluded that the role of the nurse in the care of ostomized patient is of great importance, since this professional is capable of attending to the singularities of the patients in the biopsychosocial context, however few studies have emphasized this theme, requiring new studies with a high level of evidence in order to further clarification about the care.

O enfermeiro é um dos profissionais mais capacitados para executar os cuidados com pacientes colostomizados observando o ser em toda sua singularidade. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar as publicações relacionadas aos cuidados de enfermagem em pacientes com colostomia. Foi realizada uma revisão de literatura dos artigos publicados entre 2009 a 2018, publicados nas bases de dados Bireme, Capes, Ebsco, Lilacs e Scielo. A coleta de dados foi realizada entre março e outubro de 2018, sendo encontrados 83 artigos. Desses, apenas 5 estão direcionados aos cuidados com os pacientes ostomizados entre outros relacionados dentro da temática proposta.
