O número de instituições de ensino superior que oferecem cursos de pós-graduação a distância tem crescido de forma expressiva na atualidade. No que se refere à relação professor-aluno, o elemento afetividade, tem sido tema constantemente abordado. Novas investigações sobre a afetividade até então pouco estudada, na modalidade de ensino a distância, podem ser de importância significativa. Dessa forma a presente pesquisa teve como objetivo investigar a percepção de alunos acerca da afetividade nas relações entre docentes e discentes. Foram participantes dez alunos de um curso de especialização em educação na modalidade a distância. Para coleta foi utilizada a técnica da entrevista, sendo os dados submetidos, posteriormente, a análise qualitativa. Mediante os apontamentos dos  participantes, as palavras amor, carinho, compreensão, respeito, amizade, afeto, solidariedade, atenção e companheirismo podem constituir o núcleo central de suas percepções sobre a afetividade. As atitudes afetivas positivas de professores para com seus alunos foram apontadas como um dos pontos primordiais para o aprendizado e a permanência no curso Os resultados confirmam a importância da afetividade na educação à distância. Palavras-chave: Afetividade. Educação à distância.  Relação Professor  e aluno.  ABSTRACT The number of higher education institutions offering courses of postgraduate distance has grown significantly today. With regard to the teacher the student affective element has been constantly discussed topic. New research on affectivity hitherto little studied, in the form of distance learning, can be of significant importance. Thus the present study aimed to investigate the perceptions of students about the affectivity in the relationship between teachers and students. Participants were ten students in a course of specialization in education in the distance mode. For data collection the interview technique was used and adopted a qualitative methodological research. Through the notes of the participants, the words love, caring, understanding, respect, friendship, affection, solidarity, care and companionship can form the core of their perceptions of affection. The positive affective attitudes of teachers towards their students have been identified as one of the key points about learning and staying on course The results confirm the importance of affectivity in distance education.  Keywords:  Affectivity.
