Resumo: In this paper we offer an analysis of scientific cognition as well as of the acquisition of the first principles according to Aristotle. Our point of depart is the difficult raised by the Platonic argument in Menon (80e). It seems that in Aristotle the issue is not the impossibility of cognition, as appears to be suggested in the difficulty presented in Menon. By means of the sensations caused by the particulars, which become experience, art and science are generated. The previous understanding is enough so as to enable cognition to reach a higher level of abstraction.

Revista HypnosHypnos Journal2013-09-05info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://hypnos.org.br/index.php/hypnos/article/view/165Revista Hypnos; n. 31 (2013): Ângulos do conhecimentoHypnos Journal; No. 31 (2013): ANGLES OF KNOWLEDGE2177-53461413-9138reponame:Hypnosinstname:Faculdade de São Bento (FSB)instacron:FSBporhttps://hypnos.org.br/index.php/hypnos/article/view/165/167Copyright (c) 2013 Jaqueline Stefaniinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessStefani, Jaqueline2015-09-06T01:58:10Zoai:ojs.hypnos.org.br:article/165Revistahttps://hypnos.org.br/index.php/hypnosPRIhttps://hypnos.org.br/index.php/hypnos/oairachelgazolla@gmail.com2177-53461413-9138opendoar:2023-01-13T09:46:51.428653Hypnos - Faculdade de São Bento (FSB)false
