Resumo: Plato‘s Cratylus has been considered unreliable testimony for Heraclitean thought. One of the reasons given is that it lacks references to well-known Heraclitean theories, such as the doctrines of lógos and of fire. In this paper we try to argue that such references can probably be found there, save that they are not directly attributed to Heraclitus. In order to defend these arguments we focus on an excerpt from the Cratylus in which we can see what kind of knowledge Plato had of Heraclitean doctrines.
