Resumo: Mythology is a central topic in Schelling’s thought; his philosophical reflections1 begin with this topic and he continues working on it until the end of his life. The understanding of the relationship between mythology, monotheism and philosophy should bring forth, under a different light, the understanding of the simplified ‘rationalism’ of modernity. In this work we intend to show how, from Das ältest Systemprogramm des deutschen Idealismus to Philosophie der Mythologie, Schelling’s philosophy attempts to grasp the Absolute, with a didactic sense.
