Resumo: This article presents an account of the two criteria provided by Aristotle to separate voluntary actions from the rest as well as of his analysis of the mixed and non-voluntary actions and of what should be. This account focuses on the Nicomachean Ethics (NE) and mentions the Eudemian Ethics (EE) only sparingly. We can say we have acted involuntarily or non-voluntarily only if we have been constrained to suffer something or have brought something about by accident.
