Resumo: | Origen resembles more the intellectualized gnosis, renowned among educated people, as was the case of Valentino’s metaphysics in the 2nd Century A.D., that the gnosis of 3rd Century A.D., arising from a religious syncretism, mixed with the collective imaginary and to the desire for salvation of the post popular strata. But there is an insurmountable difference between Origen and Valentino regarding the notion of free will. For the first one, free will is inseparable from the moral action, for the second, human actions would be destined by nature to salvation or to damnation. |

But there is an insurmountable difference between Origen and Valentino regarding the notion of free will. For the first one, free will is inseparable from the moral action, for the second, human actions would be destined by nature to salvation or to damnation.
