Resumo: | Abstract This article proposes to analyze the evasion of young people before the actions of the school council and for this we conducted a case study in a school of the municipal network of Recife. The school board as an instrument of democratic management, is part of the collective of the educational institution, experiencing various situations, including the evasion of young people. This collegiate body is composed of members from all segments of the school, and its referrals are reflective of collective decisions. The study used the qualitative approach, the data collection were through routine observations and semi-structured interview with representatives of the collegiate and school community. The data obtained were analyzed through the content analysis of Bardin (2004). The result pointed out that the school board has its fragile functionality, because it lacks a greater engagement of its members, especially regarding collective decision-making, which aims to prioritize what is essential to the good progress of the school. El consejo escolar como un instrumento de gestión democrática, forma parte del colectivo de la institución educativa, experimentando varias situaciones, incluso la evasión de los jóvenes. Este órgano colegiado está compuesto por miembros de todos los segmentos de la escuela, siendo sus encaminamientos reflejos de decisiones colectivas. La investigación se utilizó del abordaje cualitativo, la recopilación de datos fueron a través de observaciones en la rutina y entrevista semiestructurada con representantes del colegiado y de la comunidad escolar. Los datos obtenidos fueron analizados a través del análisis de contenido de Bardin (2004). El resultado señaló que el consejo escolar posee su funcionabilidad fragilizada, pues falta un mayor compromiso de sus miembros, principalmente en lo que se refiere a las tomas de decisiones colectivamente, que pretenden priorizar lo que es esencial para el buen funcionamiento de la escuela. JuventudResumo Este presente artigo propõe analisar a evasão dos jovens frente às ações do conselho escolar e para isto realizamos um estudo de caso em uma escola da rede municipal do Recife. O conselho escolar como um instrumento de gestão democrática, faz parte do coletivo da instituição de ensino, vivenciando várias situações, inclusive a evasão dos jovens. Esse órgão colegiado é composto por membros de todos os segmentos da escola, sendo seus encaminhamentos reflexos de decisões coletivas. A pesquisa se utilizou da abordagem qualitativa, a coleta de dados foram através de observações na rotina e entrevista semiestruturada com representantes do colegiado e da comunidade escolar. Os dados obtidos foram analisados através da análise de conteúdo de Bardin (2004). O resultado apontou que o conselho escolar possui sua funcionabilidade fragilizada, pois falta um maior engajamento dos seus membros, principalmente no que se refere às tomadas de decisões coletivamente, que visem priorizar o que é essencial ao bom andamento da escola.
