IDENTIFYING ACCOUNTING INFORMATION GOVERNANCE MECHANISMS

Resumo: Accounting has been facing challenges related to the information volume and the new technologies impact. One approach to improving the use and management of these resources is Information Governance. The article aims to identify mechanisms that can be used to govern accounting information, having the IT Governance and Information Governance Mechanisms as guiding elements. It begins with a systematic literature review, presenting a Governance Mechanisms consolidated list (IT and Information) based on Procedural, Structural and Relational practices. Afterward, interviews were conducted with accounting experts to obtain a list of these mechanisms adapted for accounting. The study's contributions focus on the consolidated presentation of Procedural, Structural, and Relational mechanisms that do not intend to exhaust the theme and on their use for a better decision-making process.

Un enfoque para mejorar el uso y la gestión de estos recursos es el gobierno de la información. El artículo tiene como objetivo identificar los mecanismos que se pueden utilizar para gobernar la información contable, teniendo como elementos rectores los Mecanismos de Gobierno de TI y de Gobierno de la Información. Comienza con una revisión sistemática de la literatura, presentando una lista consolidada de Mecanismos de Gobernanza (TI e Información) basados en Procesos, Estructura y prácticas de Relación. Posteriormente, se realizaron entrevistas con expertos contables para obtener un listado de estos mecanismos adaptados a la Contabilidad. Los aportes del estudio se enfocan en la presentación consolidada de Procesos, Estructuras y mecanismos de Relación que no pretenden agotar el tema, y en su utilización para una mejor toma de decisiones.A Contabilidade vem enfrentando desafios relacionados ao volume de informações e impacto de novas tecnologias. Uma abordagem para melhorar o uso e gerenciamento desses recursos é a Governança da Informação. O artigo objetiva identificar mecanismos que possam ser utilizados para governar a informação contábil, tendo como elementos norteadores os Mecanismos de Governança de TI e de Governança da Informação. Inicia-se com uma revisão sistemática de literatura, apresentando lista consolidada de Mecanismos de Governança (de TI e da Informação) baseados nas práticas de Processo, Estrutura e Relacionamento. Depois, conduziram-se entrevistas com especialistas contábeis para obter uma listagem desses mecanismos adaptados para a Contabilidade.
