Resumo: The world economic crisis that began in 2007 affected the confidence in the banking market and the reputation of organizations to act on it. The reputation and a good image, by banks, help them to win market confidence and create lasting relationships with your target-market. In order to understand which the most significant impact of this crisis on the performance of those organizations, with the consequent reflection on their reputation and image, perceived by the Society, was followed a strategy of case studies, using financial public information. The results seem to indicate a strong confidence of the Society in their banks, despite the non-reciprocity, because management practices fail to understand mixed signals and do not always converge with the paradigm of profitability and management of internationally accepted risk.

La reputación y una buena imagen de los bancos, ayudan a ganar la confianza del mercado y crear relaciones perdurables con su público. Con el objetivo de comprender cuáles son los impactos más significativos de esta crisis sobre el desempeño de esas organizaciones, con el consecuente reflejo en la reputación y la imagen percibida por la Sociedad, fue establecida una estrategia de estudio de caso, utilizando información pública financiera. Los resultados parecen indicar una fuerte confianza de la Sociedad en sus bancos, a pesar de la falta de reciprocidad, considerando evidencias contradictorias de las prácticas de gestión y no siempre convergentes con el paradigma de la rentabilidad y la gestión de riesgos internacionalmente aceptados.A crise da economia mundial iniciada em 2007 afetou a confiança no mercado bancário e a reputação das organizações que nele atuam. A reputação e uma boa imagem, por parte dos bancos, ajudam a conquistar a confiança do mercado e a criar relacionamentos duradouros com o público-alvo. Com o objetivo de perceber quais os impactos mais significativos desta crise no desempenho daquelas organizações, com o consequente reflexo na sua reputação e imagem, percebidas pela Sociedade, foi seguida uma estratégia de estudo de casos, utilizando informação financeira pública.
