Ativismo trans e representação política : uma análise sobre as candidaturas trans na política brasileira de 2002 a 2020

Resumo: This article presents the results of an exploratory, bibliographical, and documentary research on trans activism and trans candidacies in Brazilian politics. The first section addresses the theme of trans activism, highlighting its main phases of formation and consolidation over the years, including its relationship with the homosexual movement, its interaction with feminism, and its evolution as an independent political player. In the second section, an analysis of trans candidacies in the Brazilian political and social context is carried out, presenting the quantitative evolution of these candidacies from 2002 to 2020 using secondary data. The third section provides a reflection on the progress of the regime of rights and conquest of spaces of representation in the State for trans individuals and the LGBTQIAPN+ community. The main results highlight the growing articulation of the collective political player, evidenced by the progressive increase in trans candidacies in the formal political arena. This participation aims to advance the citizenship rights agenda for this group, however, faces significant resistance from conservative sectors of society.

A primeira seção aborda o tema do ativismo trans, destacando as principais fases de sua formação e consolidação ao longo dos anos, incluindo sua relação com o movimento homossexual, sua interação com o feminismo e sua evolução como sujeito político independente. Na segunda seção, realiza-se uma análise das candidaturas trans no contexto político e social brasileiro, apresentando a evolução quantitativa dessas candidaturas no período de 2002 a 2020, utilizando dados secundários. A terceira seção oferece uma reflexão sobre as conquistas de direitos e espaços de representação no Estado para as pessoas trans e a comunidade LGBTQIAPN+. Como principais resultados, destaca-se a crescente articulação do sujeito político coletivo, evidenciada pelo aumento progressivo das candidaturas de pessoas trans na disputa política formal do estado.
