Resumo: | Among the main most common aesthetic problems present in the young population, acne is estimated to be the most recurrent. Numerous possibilities of acne treatments are available on the market, from drugs and cosmetics, to various herbal and nutraceuticals. In view of this emerging scenario with numerous biotechnological and pharmaceutical possibilities potentially applicable to the approach of acne, the present work of systematized review of scientific publications, intends to synthesize and evaluate the results obtained from clinical and epidemiological studies regarding effectiveness and effectiveness of herbal treatments used in acne control, considering the growing diversity of therapeutic options available in the current market and the different routes of administration, as well as concomitant need to guide health professionals regarding the choice of the best conduct to be prescribed to the patient. Thus, following the methodology pre-established by the Systematized Review Protocol: "Evaluation of the efficacy of herbal treatments used in individuals with Acne “were included, which allow us to conclude in general that the use of oral and topical treatments with extracts of medicinal plants are relatively safe and effective for acne control, especially regarding the mean and total decrease of lesions, as well as the degree of severity of acne. |
