Summary: The aim of this study was obtain the phytosociological parameters to characterize the riparian forest community of the Arroyo Corrales, Rivera Uruguay. The floristic composition and community structure data were obtained using the point-centered quarter method in non-delimited transects. Forty-three native trees and shrub species were registered. Most of the species found in the studied forest have wide geographic distribution in the region.

Most of the species found in the studied forest have wide geographic distribution in the region.Com o objetivo de obter parâmetros fitossiológicos para uma caracterização da comunidade vegetal da mata ciliar do Arroyo Corrales, Rivera, Uruguay, foram analizados a composição florística e a estrutura da comunidade arbórea pela aplicação do método dos quadrantes centrados em um ponto, em transeccionais não delimitadas. Como resultado registraram-se 43 espécies arbóreas e arbustivas nativas, distribuidas en 19 famílias e 34 gêneros. A maioria das espécies encontradas na mata estudada são de ampla distribuicão geográfica na região.Iheringia.
