Resumo: The marsh forest is located in the lower portion from the Encosta Inferior do Nordeste Region, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil (29º36’22’’ S-51º38’55’’ W), 50 m high, in Serra Velha, Brochier municipality. It corresponds to a Semideciduous Seasonal Forest, composed of species with wide distribution in the state, by elements from Paraná-Uruguay Basin forest and from Atlantic rain forest components. The qualitative palynological analysis was made in 40 samples, which were extracted from a sedimentary profile of 512 cm, in the interior of the forest. The chemical process of the samples followed the acetolysis method and the analysis was carried out by light microscopy. This research has enabled us to describe and illustrate 106 palynomorphs from the last 9.800 years (14C), which can be used as a reference material for the future Holocene palynological researches on the Encosta Inferior do Nordeste region and for other places in the state. Whenever possible, ecological data are included with the palynomorph descriptions.

Corresponde a uma Mata Estacional Semidecidual, composta por espécies de ampla distribuição no Estado, e por integrantes da Mata da bacia dos rios Paraná-Uruguai e da Mata Atlântica. A análise palinológica qualitativa foi feita em 40 amostras, extraídas de um perfil sedimentar de 512 cm, no interior da floresta. O processamento químico das amostras seguiu o método de acetólise e a análise foi feita em microscopia óptica. Foram descritos e ilustrados 106 palinomorfos dos últimos 9.800 anos (14C). O material poderá servir de referência para futuras pesquisas palinológicas do Holoceno da Encosta Inferior do Nordeste e também para os demais locais do Estado. Sempre que possível, dados ecológicos acompanham as descrições dos palinomorfos. Iheringia.
