CULTURA, COMUNICAÇÃO E DIVERSIDADE NO CONTEXTO CONTEMPORÂNEO: DISPUTAS SOBRE OS LEGADOS DA MEMÓRIA

O artigo propõe aprofundar o tópico geral “cultura, comunicação e diversidade” assumindo como campo de interrogação o caráter problemático e até controverso da memória no tempo contemporâneo. Hipertrófica no plano da mídia, mas também precária, pelo menos na sua relação problemática com o passado, a memória hoje proporciona um campo de batalha muito aberto que sintetiza o conflito de diferentes correntes interpretativas sobre os reusos do passado e a definição de visões compartilhadas em particular sobre eventos traumáticos. Mais especificamente, no âmbito dos estudos sobre a memória, propõe-se discutir um conceito por sua vez polêmico como o de pós-memória, ou seja, a representação do passado por parte não da geração testemunhal, mas por parte de quem herda do passado uma memória em particular traumática. Mobilizando um vasto arsenal de exemplos (do cinema ao documentário, da poesia a prosa etc.) o caso escolhido para discutir o tema da pós-memória é o Brasil e as heranças para a segunda geração dos anos de autoritarismo depois do golpe civil-militar de 1964.Palavras-chave: Cultura. Memória.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------CULTURE, COMMUNICATION AND DIVERSITY IN THE CONTEMPORARY CONTEXT: DISPUTES ON THE LEGACIES OF MEMORYThe article aims to deepen the general topic “culture, communication and diversity”, taking as a field of interrogation the problematic and even controversial nature of memory in contemporary times. Hypertrophic at the level of the media, but also precarious, at least in its problematic relationship with the past, memory today provides us with a very open battlefield synthesizing the conflict of different interpretive tendencies about the re-uses of the past and the possible definition of a shared vision in particular about traumatic events. More specifically, in the context of memory studies, the proposal deals with the discussion on a controversial (on its turn) concept as post-memory, that is, the representation of the past not due to the generation of witnesses, but to those who inherit such memories from the past, particularly the traumatic ones. Mobilizing a vast arsenal of examples (from cinema to documentary, from poetry to prose, etc.), the case of study that was chosen to discuss postmemory issues is Brazil and the legacies of the second generation of authoritarianism epoch, after the civil-military coup in 1964.Keywords: Culture.
