PERCEPTIONS ABOUT TEACHING GEOGRAPHY THROUGH REMOTE MODE: CASE STUDY IN THE CITY OF FRANCISCO BELTRÃO/PR

Resumo: This work sought to analyze how the developments of remote teaching are happening, in the Geography discipline, in some schools in Francisco Beltrão/PR. For this, three schools were chosen (as a sample of the case study), in order to make this research feasible. The designated schools are: Colégio Estadual Mário de Andrade, Colégio Estadual Cristo Rei and Colégio Estadual Professor Léo Flach. As contextualization and theoretical basis, it was used, mainly, the resulting thinkers: Callai (2011, 2012, 2014), Castellar (1999, 2012), Cavalcanti (1998, 2012) and Straforini (2004). From these, he talked about the Teaching of Geography, linking such theoretical reflections with remote teaching, which has been implemented as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. As a result, a questionnaire was made available to the 9th and 3rd year classes, respectively, in the aforementioned schools, in order to identify the benefits and harms of remote education in the curricular component of Geography. This case study, as its main contribution, allowed us to verify that remote teaching does have its benefits, however, without a shadow of a doubt, it will never replace the quality of on-site teaching. In addition, this article aimed to be a qualified (academic) record of this atypical moment we are experiencing, especially with regard to school/pedagogical issues.

Para isso, três escolas foram eleitas (como amostragem do estudo de caso), a fim de viabilizar a presente pesquisa. As escolas designadas são as seguintes: Colégio Estadual Mário de Andrade, Colégio Estadual Cristo Rei e Colégio Estadual Professor Léo Flach. Como contextualização e embasamento teórico utilizou-se, principalmente, dos decorrentes pensadores: Callai (2011, 2012), Castellar (1999, 2012), Cavalcanti (1998, 2012) e Straforini (2004). A partir destes, discorreu sobre o Ensino de Geografia, vinculando tais reflexões teóricas com o ensino remoto, que vem sendo implementado em decorrência da pandemia de Coronavírus. Na sequência, foi disponibilizado para as turmas de 9º e 3º anos, dos Ensino Fundamental e Médio, respectivamente, das escolas supramencionadas, um questionário visando identificar os benefícios e malefícios do ensino remoto no componente curricular de Geografia. Este estudo de caso, como contributo principal, permitiu constatar que o ensino remoto tem sim seus proveitos, entretanto, sem sombra de dúvidas, nunca substituirá a qualidade do ensino presencial.
