Resumo: No presente artigo, focalizo a inclusão de grupos populares na nação brasileira, ocorrida nos anos 30, através de uma análise da associação feita, na época, entre representações das identidades destes grupos com a identidade nacional. Especificamente utilizo, como fontes, os sambas da época, especialmente os gravados pela cantora Carmen Miranda, considerada a mais popularmente famosa de seu tempo, para tal análise.Palavras-chave: Identidade nacional brasileira, representações, inclusão.
