Resumo: Many relations can be drawn between the works of Nietzsche and Freud. It’s more important to examine the themes of approximation as well as their points of divergence than to try to identify an eventual filiation. This paper purposes to do it by analyzing the question of the emergence of conscience in Towards a genealogy of morals and Civilization and its discontents. In order to achieve this objective, I will (1) introduce the question, (2) point out the similitudes and differences of the conceptions of the authors, to finally conclude that (3) the approximation lies almost exclusively in a similarity of a mechanism (the internalization of aggressiveness).

Mais importante que identificar uma eventual filiação é observar os temas que os aproximam, assim como apontar em que medida eles se afastam. É isso que este artigo procura fazer, a partir da temática do surgimento da consciência moral, tal como essa questão é discutida em Para a genealogia da moral e em O mal-estar na civilização.
