Introduction: The activity of implant dentists within their professional competence has evolved considerably in recent decades. The composition of surgical instruments provided greater post-procedural comfort, implant placement techniques also improved the osseointegration process as well as post-implant recovery. Objectives: To analyze the efficiency of the osseodensification technique in dental implants, it was necessary to describe the technique proposed by Huwais, also analyzing the effect on implant stability from a biomechanical and histological view, in order to demonstrate how the preparation process occurs. bone for osseodensification dental implants. Methodology: As a methodology, the bibliographic research was adopted, where a systematic review was performed from the MEDLINE, SCOPUS and SCIELO indexed databases, using articles published between 2013 and 2018. Primary stability in implant placement It is one of the most critical factors that determine the outcome of implant therapy. Results: Many studies show that the factors involved, mainly in implant improvement and primary stability, are bone density, surgical protocol, thread type and geometry. Conclusion: Osseodification corresponds well to the initial dental implant procedures, thus presenting satisfactory results and more effective than any other technique, besides optimizing the patient's recovery time and osseointegration capacity.
